QUAKE HITS THE OTTAWA VALLEY

All now seems to be calm in the Ottawa Valley following a 5.2 magnitude earthquake that rocked the region just before 10am. The quake was centred north of Shawville.

EARTHQUAKE STRIKES OTTAWA VALLEY

There has been an earthquake in the Ottawa Valley this morning (Friday). Earthquakes Canada reports that a magnitude 4.8 quake struck at 9:43am and was centered at Braeside. However, the tremor was felt across a wide area.

DOING IT BOGIE STYLE

They are planning to do it up Bogie Style this Saturday (May 18) to raise money for a roof at the Calabogie Rink. Chairperson Kim Rekowski says there is a great entertainment lineup planned.

LCBO STRIKE AVERTED IN LAST MINUTE DEAL

Ontario's government-owned liquor stores will be open today. The Liquor Control Board of Ontario and the union representing its workers have reached a tentative agreement, averting a strike. The deal was reached just hours before a midnight deadline.

STRIKE LOOMS FOR LCBO

The deadline for the Ontario government and the union representing the workers at all LCBO locations to come to an agreement is fast approaching. If an agreement between both parties isn't finalized before midnight, LCBO employees will be walking off the job.

GM COUNCIL CONSIDERS SPECIAL EVENT PERMITS

Two special event permits are being considered for Calabogie Motor Sports for this summer. The first is for August 23rd to the 25th and the other is for the weekend of September 5th to the 8th.
