We are entering what is considered to be unofficially the first long weekend of the summer and on the roads, it's going to be a very busy travel weekend, with many people headed out on road trips to the cottage or other destinationas.

All now seems to be calm in the Ottawa Valley following a 5.2 magnitude earthquake that rocked the region just before 10am. The quake was centred north of Shawville.

There has been an earthquake in the Ottawa Valley this morning (Friday). Earthquakes Canada reports that a magnitude 4.8 quake struck at 9:43am and was centered at Braeside. However, the tremor was felt across a wide area.
